>Abrams: ‘New Fringe is mind-blowing’
>Fringe co-creator J.J. Abrams has claimed that the second half of the show’s third season will be “mind-blowing”.
He told the Los Angeles Times that elements from the show’s past will be referenced in forthcoming episodes.
“There are some amazing, unexpected call-backs to things that have happened earlier in the series,” he revealed. “The war between two universes is [also] a story that will… continue through season three. There’s incredible drama, suspense and romance.”
He continued: “Maybe it’s because we’re moving to Fridays and they’re letting us do some bolder, weirder stuff. It’s unbelievable what they’re coming up with. I cannot wait for [viewers] to see what’s next.”
Abrams also suggested that the sci-fi drama has reached a creative peak in its current season.
“This year… to me is sort of what [fellow producers] Alex [Kurtzman], Rob [Orci], Jeff [Pinkner], Joel [Wyman] and I all dreamed about that first season,” he explained. “They’re just nailing it now and it’s really exciting to watch.”
